Pentecost

There are all sorts of ups and downs in life so we can’t miss out on giving thanks for the good things. There have been many big things in May, health recoveries, our Pentecost Potluck supper, our support for our Camp and for YFC, and Adoniram joining First Baptist as a summer student. Less visible are all the small ways we care for each other every single week with prayer, friendship, and practice service. It is moving to hear how you care for each other.
There are also hard times. They can draw us closer to God. They can become the means of purifying us. And as Annabel urged us to remember in her Learning for Life, God is the source of our hope. We are alive and every moment has that possibility of goodness.
In June, we leave all the special church days celebrating Jesus’ life and the Trinity and we enter the routine Sundays that continue until we draw closer again to Christmas. The church colours are green for this long season of steady growth through the ups and downs. May the Holy Spirit speak to you each day and guide you safely through.
With love, Pastor Joel
