Looking toward Redemption
Annabel Robinson has been leading a meaningful class on the 12 “minor” prophets, so called because they are much shorter in length. The prophets witnessed massive transitions of power and incredible movement of peoples. Over 600 years, multiple empires swept across the Middle East: Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans. War, hunger, and violence led to collisions of culture and language. The prophets’ faith remained unshaken. God was in control. What some meant for evil, God was using for good.
As we look at our city or the world, do we feel like things are out of control? Or do we see God continuing to bring good out of evil? The prophets continue to call us to patient prayer and faithful work while we wait on God’s timing.
