Summer Memories
We were blessed to have our younger people step forward this summer. Several were on staff at camp, some led the singing a few times on Sundays, others read scripture, and Adoniram did a bit of just about everything from May to August as our summer student. He helped lead youth and the children’s program. He went on pastoral visits, spoke at First Baptist Place, and ended his time with a sermon. We are so proud of him and all our young people.
We sent lots of children to camp as well. Katepwa Lake Camp had a great summer.
We were blessed by everyone’s hospitality as well. The Cantors, Riches, Wollbaums, Radford-Grants, all hosted patio parties. Cheryl and Mark opened their farm up to everyone for a July BBQ. Many of you brightened my neighbourhood by attending our block party. That gathering is such a positive moment on our block and means a lot to our neighbours.
Our world and our lives can feel unpredictable at times, sometimes more so than others. We need habits that we stick to through the good times and the bad. As a congregation, we have made hospitality and sharing meals a habit. We have made supporting and celebrating our young people a habit. We enjoy habits of prayer, singing and music, learning, and serving and giving. They are means of deepening our relationship with each other and with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is faithful to us and to all people and will see us through these times.
