Thanksgiving

September was full of meaningful times. Youth, choir, and bible studies are all underway again. The high point of the month was Pastor Cheryl’s ordination. It was great to celebrate her hard work and God’s goodness to us in calling her to serve among us. We capped that day off with a church picnic on Willow Island. It was a great time of games and visiting and the weather was perfect.
There were difficult things as well. We lost Barry Brass, our longest standing member. He was baptized by in 1948. What a record of faithfulness for the rest of us to aim for. Our hearts were also broken by the loss of baby Shyvaughn and we grieved with her parents.
Everything we do as a congregation is meant to give us chances to build relationships with God and one another. God is with us and we have each other, our sources of strength in the hard times and a deeper joy in the good times.
To God alone be the glory. Yours, with love
Pastor Joel
