Joel Russell-MacLean
“This innocent man,” is how Pilate’s wife described Jesus.
“I am innocent,” Pilate proclaimed as he sentenced Jesus to death.
Clearly, they could not both be innocent. The judge was either guilty of condemning an innocent person, or he was innocent and the accused was guilty.
As was so often the case when people met Jesus, we see Pilate’s character revealed. Pilate concluded “there was nothing he could do.”
