On the second Sunday of Advent we look to God’s word as a light in our darkness.
These have been dark days for many people. There was already plenty of darkness in the world before the coming of the illness. Even within us, things were not right. The contagion has taken the opportunity to play on our weaknesses.
We need God’s light more than ever.
To prepare our lives for Jesus, we take Peter’s advice:
“Be attentive to the message of the prophets
as to a light shining in a dark place,
until the day dawns
and the morning star rises in your hearts.” (2 Peter 1.19)
Make time to sit wth God’s word. Make time to wait in prayer. When God speak, it is like a light shining in the darkness. Believe that God will come ashe has promised.
