The ascension of Jesus is celebrated forty days after the resurrection which, this year, falls on Thursday May 18. Like other churches, we tend to celebrate it on the following Sunday. This year, we would like to try something different.
We invite anyone interested to set aside the preceding days as a time of praying together throughout the day. Since our days all look different, we are experimenting so that anyone can take part. We will try and accommodate people at the church who need a work space or those joining remotely from their workplace or home. We will have a range of small chores around the church building for others. As it is a time of fasting, we will arrange for some simple meals for those at the church. All the prayer times will be in the sanctuary and online.
We will provide reflections on the Ascension of Jesus and some ideas on how to incorporate prayer, fasting, and silence while working and living with people not taking part. Please speak with one of the pastors if you are interested or for more information.

5:00 pm – prayer for those heading home from work
