Voice is a women’s literature group which meets every two weeks on Wednesday evening. We discuss a book related to our spiritual journey.
Reading and discussing literature is a way of understanding our society, and how as Christians to relate intelligently to our ever changing world. We often gain insights about ourselves when we read. This is one way we can “love the Lord with our minds” and truly “Think First.” And it’s just plain fun too!
What are we reading?
We are reading the Bible Study “Mary Magdalene” by Faye Reynolds.
Sometimes we think we know all about a Biblical character because much has been written or put into movies, but is that all fact or a lot of fiction? I believe there is much about Mary Magdalene that we assume that simply is not in the Bible. Hopefully, this study will get us back to the core of this amazing woman who witnessed the resurrection of our Lord! – Faye Reynolds

About the author
I am currently the Director of Ministries for the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada and have served as Director of Women in Focus for the past 16 years. “How I think now of what a different world we would live in if only every woman tried to make use of the gifts God bestows on her” is a quote from my distant cousin’s circa 1914 journal, reminding me that my passion for empowering women has deep, deep roots. I am grateful for the opportunities God has provided to speak, write, teach and mentor both women and men toward their full potential in Christ.
We are meeting every second Wednesday, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the home of Martha P. We will be studying chapters of the book.
If you are interested in joining Voice or just want more info – please talk to Laureen Snook (306-757-8403) or Martha Pauls (306-586-7015).
This event is open to any woman who has / would like to read this book and would like to meet new people and join in fellowship and fun.
