Thank you to those who came for the June prayer walk through our downtown. While weather permits, we will continue to do these each month. Come for part or all of the time. Meet at the Lorne Street entrance to the church.
We have set it on the same day as the Farmer’s market to allow people to visit it before or after our walk. If some are willing, we will also provide garbage bags and gloves to pick up any litter we come across as we walk. We will re-gather at the end and share any observations, stories, or questions we may have.
A prayer walk is one of the things we can offer our neighbourhood. There are so many people, services, ministries, and businesses around our church.
Prayer walks can also bless us. Walking, looking, and listening with prayer on our mind can change our perception, at times drawing our attention to needs, at other times to the goodness all around us. It is always an affirmation that God is present and at work in people’s lives and in our city.
If walking for that length of time is not possible, mark the day on your calendar, and, throughout the day, pause to say some prayers for our city, for its services, businesses, and leaders, and for our neighbours.
