Often as we reach out to our friends and neighbors and share Jesus’ gospel in our communities we naturally speak in terms of coming to Jesus. But we realize that Jesus also tells those who have come to him to be his disciples: “Just as the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” Apparently our salvation includes not only coming to Jesus but also being sent by Jesus. So we wonder…. How does he send us? Where does he send us ? And what does he send us to do? By looking at (a few of) the ways that the Father sent Jesus, we will reflect on some of the ways that Jesus is sending us.
For those who may wish to prayerfully contemplate and invite the Holy Spirit, I recommend this choral rendition of the Latin hymn Veni Creator Spiritus – (Come Creator Spirit) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEKuxUOPzk8 .
