Abram and Sarai received a promise from God that was not fulfilled in their lifetimes. It was a huge vision for a future beyond what they could have imagined on their own. 

A good leader casts vision for a future that goes beyond what we can see and do right now. Building on empathy and relationship, God leads us toward experiences that grow our ability to speak and act from a place of trusting that God loves us and will provide for us. God also gives us people to mentor us and walk with us as we experience the pushback and doubt that comes as the vision is being fulfilled.
