Remembrance and Hope
We held four funerals in October. It was a difficult month as we lost a number of people who were dear to us.
The beginning of the November holds two events, All Saints’ Day and Remembrance Day. Both remind us of the grim price of human sin. Revelation chapter 6 describes the saints in heaven calling out, “How long?” as they await the day of resurrection, and here on earth we too join in with the same cry. We are all longing for that “yet more glorious day” when death, the last enemy, will be defeated once and for all, for the day when “the saints triumphant rise in bright array”. May those who have gone before give us courage to persevere faithfully through to the end.
