We are finally enjoying the first sunny days above freezing. For some, the coming weeks meaning cleaning homes, inside and out. We have gone through closets and cabinets. Some things were put away, some brought out, and others were no longer needed. Seeds have been planted and there’s yard work ahead of hoped-for warm weather.
Lent and Easter can work together in our lives this way. Lent encourages us to clean out our habits and behaviour, our thoughts and our hearts, under the direction of the Holy Spirit. The celebration of Jesus’ resurrection at Easter encourages us to live a new life while we wait for the day when we see Jesus face to face.
May God purify us and cleanse us and may the joy of Jesus, alive forevermore, be with us all.
