The global pandemic continues to have a grip on our lives. People across Canada and around the world continue to struggle. New variants, exploding numbers in India, and pictures of suffering as hospitals are depleted of oxygen are foremost in our minds. In Canada, case numbers continue to rise, and many have experienced heartbreaking loss.
Pastors are tired as they continue to serve, lead, and provide pastoral care in the midst of changing regulations and different expectations. Healthcare professionals are exhausted and traumatized by overwhelmed hospitals and ICUs.
In this context, we call Canadian Baptists to pray, in unity, to the source of hope, our Lord. We invite every Canadian Baptist church to join together on May 16 for a National Day of Prayer.
