Establishing Roots
In 2006 First Baptist Church began welcoming over 100 Karen refugees from Burma. This major undertaking has now resulted in a fully independent daughter congregation. The First Karen Baptist Church has its own pastoral staff and leaders. FKBC originally met Sunday afternoons for worship in the First Baptist Church building. However, the Karen church has grown and is now located in their own building at 2625 – 12th Avenue in Regina. This group also help establish a national Karen Christian organization.
